Author's Note Most Koreans love spicy food. Even if you are Korean, there are some people who can't eat spicy food well. Therefore, restaurants often offer different levels of spiciness. Nowadays, there are many more types of spicy food. One of the favorite foods of Koreans is Tteokbokki. Tteokbokki is rice cakes simmered in a spicy sauce. Tteok is made of rice and is chewy. It is flavored with spicy chili sauce, sugar, garlic, pepper, and various vegetables.  The flavor of the sauce determines the flavor of the tteokbokki. The flavor of the sauce varies from restaurant to restaurant. Today, we recommend the 'Namdo Bunsik' located at Yongsan I-Park. 'Namdo' means the southern part of Korea, and 'bunsik' means casual food. 'Namdo Bunsik' offers a collection of famous foods from the southern region of Korea, so you can taste local specialties.  The menu includes fried lettuce, bibim dangmyeon, flat dumplings, and kimbap ssam. Best Mid-Range Korean Food Restaurants in Gwanghwamun, Seoul South Korea

Mid-Priced Korean Restaurants Sanchaehyang Gwanghwamun Restaurants

Author's Note

Do you like Hanjeongsik? I sometimes think of Hanjeongsik when I want to eat a variety of dishes.

I suddenly wondered if it's just a higher level than Baekban, or if it has to be a 9-course, 12-course meal with a variety of ingredients and recipes. So I looked it up.

According to the Encyclopedia of Korean Folklore

"Hanjeongsik is short for 'Korean set meal'. It refers to a set meal in which a restaurant sets a certain value and serves a variety of foods in a plated manner. It's usually served in high-end restaurants. In high-end restaurants in Europe and North America, salad salad, soup soup, main dish main dish, and dessert dessert are served one after another over time. In contrast, most Korean restaurants adopt a spatialized approach to serving food, where everything is served at once."

It's still a bit ambiguous, isn't it? But we already have an image in our minds of what a traditional Korean meal looks like. Can you imagine a large table with dishes such as japchae, braised ribs, jogogi, tangpyeongchae, sashimi, jeon, namul, and gugeuppan? When you want to enjoy food and conversation in a formal setting with plenty of space and atmosphere, it seems to be a common occasion for family reunions and elderly people's birthdays.

Outside of these more formal occasions, you'll often find yourself looking for prix fixe meals for reunions, friend birthdays, and parent-teacher conferences.

You can choose a restaurant that offers a slightly simplified version of the set menu. I recommend a restaurant with a price range of around 20,000 won and a menu that can be eaten by a minimum number of people, and that has only the right dishes.

Summary

- The place I'm going to introduce is Sanchaehyang in Gwanghwamun, but there are a few other branches.

- The theme of this restaurant is deodeok, but it's not just deodeok, but a variety of foods. In fact, there is less deodeok than you think.

- deodeok: mountain herb whose roots have restorative properties.

- At 22,000 won per person, you can get a good deal.

- However, don't expect an authentic Hanjeongsik (don't compare it to Hanjeongsik restaurants that cost upwards of 50,000 won per person).

- I tried the Grilled deodeok set meal (22,000KWR)  and the Deodeok Tteokgalbi set meal (26,000KWR).

- In addition to grilled deodeok and tteokgalbi, there were potato and black sesame pickles, salad, fried mushrooms, acorn jelly with hot sauce, japchae, bulgogi, and various side dishes, and deodeok-rice and seasoned soy sauce were served.

- Usually, Korean Soybean Paste Stew is served for limited meals, but seaweed soup was served, and the seaweed soup was delicious, so I ate it well.

- It's table style and not very luxurious, but it's okay.

- The staff is friendly.

- There is no parking lot, but there are sometimes available in the nearby alley, but it may be better to park at the history museum.

Come on a day like this

Reunion, with friends, for lunch, with family, public parking available nearby, hot, cold.

(very subjective, depends on your mood on the day, just a guide^^)

5 : I want to come again. I want to spread the word.

4 : Actually, this is the score that should be given to all branches. (Actually, this is 80 points??)

3: A little disappointed.

2: Slightly angry.

1: Very upset. But I wouldn't give them a 1. It's no one else's business....
